Stitching in Color Code of Conduct

Our Purpose: Stitching in Color's mission is to cultivate an inclusive needlepoint community that centers and uplifts people of color. A community where POC stitchers feel seen and supported. We provide a space for connection while fostering belonging within a hobby that has historically lacked representation. Membership is based on self-identification, completion and acceptance of your application and adherence to our code of conduct. Our priority is care, safety, and mutual respect—always.

1. Be Kind & Respectful

⊙ Treat all members with courtesy, patience, and goodwill.
⊙ Respect differences in skill level, background, culture, identity, opinions, and stitching styles.
⊙ Harassment, bullying, or discrimination of any kind is not allowed.
⊙ Harmful behavior includes (but is not limited to): racism, colorism, xenophobia, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, religious discrimination, fatphobia, or any form of demeaning or hateful language or behavior.

2. Foster a Supportive, Non-Gatekeeping Community

⊙ Encourage, don’t gatekeep.
⊙ Everyone was a beginner once.
⊙ Offer feedback only when it’s invited, and keep it constructive and kind.
⊙ Celebrate each other’s progress, creativity, and learning curves. This is not a competition space—comparison culture and shaming have no home here.

3. Respect Lived Experiences

⊙ Be mindful of both intent and impact—and take responsibility if your words or actions cause harm.
⊙ Avoid tone-policing, defensiveness, or derailing conversations when someone is sharing their experience.

4. Respect Privacy & Confidentiality
